Why I'm Running

While the politicians fight over investment in Newark and Camden, who's fighting to bring economic development and good jobs to Ocean County? --Eileen Della Volle

New Jersey should be celebrating its top-rated public schools, not trying to destroy them. We'll fight to restore Ocean County's fair share of state school aid.--Erin Wheeler

The 10th Legislative District

New Jersey's 10th State Legislative District sits entirely within Ocean County, and is comprised of the communities of Bay Head, Brick Township, Island Heights, Lakehurst, Lavalette, Manchester Township, Mantoloking, Point Pleasant Beach, Seaside and Toms River.

Our charming coastal communities sit on the sandy beaches of the Atlantic Ocean. Home to the boardwalks, hotels and nightlife of Point Pleasant and Seaside Heights, the mansions of Mantoloking, and the endless sailing, fishing and outdoor recreational opportunities of the majestic Barnegat Bay, this area of our district is synonymous with the Jersey Shore and a popular destination for tourists, vacationers and second-home owners.

Ocean County generates one-fourth of New Jersey's tourist dollars, which results in more than $40 million in tax revenue for the state.

In-land from the beach, where the majority of our residents live year-round, another unique feature of our district is our number of active adult, retirement and senior living communities.

Lakehurst Maxfield Field, the naval component of Joint Base McGuire–Dix–Lakehurst, is located in Lakehurst and Manchester.

As of the 2010 Census, the 10th District had a population of 208,227. We are part of New Jersey's Third Congressional District, which is represented by Congressman Andy Kim.

In 2012, the communities of LD 10 suffered some of the most severe damage inflicted by Super Storm Sandy, which came ashore in Seaside. The district continues to struggle with the impact of Sandy's devastation and the long-term consequences of the losses we have not been able to recover.
